Happy Mother's Day!

I have a lot of friends who have recently become mothers. For a lot of them, it is their first born child, for a few, their second. It's amazing to see their children grow when I remember their mothers as my friends from grade school or friends that I used to sit with on the bus. It's surreal and amazing all at the same time.

I've had the opportunity to photograph sessions with some of these mothers and in honor of Mother's Day, would like to share some highlights from those sessions...

The image above is actually a sneak peek from a session that I recently did. The photographs are very touching, and I'm looking forward to completing post-production work on the photographs from this shoot.

All of the photographs above are wonderful memories preserved for these mothers and their families.  It is my hope that someday their children will look back on these images and feel happy that they have something from this time in their lives with their mothers.

In keeping with the Mother's Day sentiment, I would like to say that I am very glad to have this photograph from my childhood. I don't remember this day, but it is still one of my favorite images from my old photo album. I am in the stroller and my mom is crouched down next to me as I admire animals at the zoo. The goat peeking at me over the fence is just a hilarious bonus. Whoever snapped this shot that day---I'm so grateful, I love it!

Additionally, this is a more recent shot of me taken with my mother on vacation. We were at the shore and had just arrived at the start of our trip. The sun was setting and we took a quick walk down to the ocean and I asked her to let me take this self portrait of us right there on the beach.

I want to say that I am thankful to have a mother who has always loved, appreciated, and supported me.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Happy Mother's Day!
